The Salt lake school district's teaching visual art workshop
This workshop that Megan Hawlett, Kathleen Bonifay, and I have been offering every month this school year, has been a real treat! I have met some wonderful educators who gladly spend their evenings learning how to integrate visual art into their curriculum. The list of lesson plans is available on the district website at the following link.
Visual Art 2013-2014
We have a new elementary visual art workshop for classroom teachers beginning on November 19, 2013. This is an extension of last year’s workshop titled “How to Teach Visual Art in Your Elementary Classroom.” However, it is not required that you have taken that workshop in order to take this new one. Elementary classroom teachers will learn how to integrate visual art skills with other content areas. They will also learn visual art core skills so that they can teach those skills to their students. This workshop is a total of nine sessions throughout the school year. These sessions will be taught by three different presenters on different dates. The sessions will be in each presenter’s classroom. The workshop will go from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. each time. You will receive 1.0 USOE credit or 18 hours licensure points. Salt Lake City School District teachers can receive $25 per hour up to 17 hours for taking district workshops. These hours can count towards that stipend depending on whether or not you have any stipend hours left for this year. There is a limit of 25 participants due to funding. So it important that you register right away. You need to register on ONTRACK. The course number is #59528. You can link to ONTRACK by clicking the following link
