Photojournalism
Ever wonder what it would be like to be a Journalist? To report on what goes on behind the scenes? This semester or full year course takes you through the technology, the writing, and the adventure that journalists experience as they bring us the news. Students in this class will learn the basics of digital Photography, how to edit/enhance/manipulate photographs with graphic software, and learn what it means to be an ethical photo-journalist. Students will create photo essays for a monthly school newsletter, using Microsoft Publisher to create and Edmodo to submit their assignments. Students will also learn the history of photography and photo journalism in America and publish a video report on a famous photographer.
It is important that students love to write, take photographs, and interview people. They will be required to sometimes create their own editorials and at other times, report on a topic they are assigned to cover. Student work must be free of grammatical errors and other inaccuracies before being turned in for publishing.
Students must be trust worthy and self disciplined to succeed in this class!
